At the start of the Autumn term we read and wrote observational poems aiming to use descriptive language, similes and metaphors
In the first week and a half of the Spring Term we read, performed and wrote performance poems. As we examined the language of the poems we identified and interpreted figurative language - similes, metaphors and personification. After annotating the poems we tried to use some of the techniques ourselves. We also read poems aloud, including our own using emotion and expression.
