Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

My name is Miss Mortlock and I am the class teacher. We have had a great half term and completed lots of work and everyone has made progress. We have just had a fantastic week at Kingswood in North Wales, where everyone had the opportunity to challenge themselves and work independently and as part of a team - well done Year 6. Most of Year 6 now walk home independently; if you need to discuss your child, please make an appointment at the office.

Please make sure that you arrive on time (or early if you have a job) for school so that no learning time is lost.

The children have P.E on several days during the week so it is essential that P.E kits are always in school. All children are expected to take part in P.E lessons unless there is a medical reason for them not to do so; if this the case please contact the school by phone or letter.

If you have given permission for your child to walk home, please make sure they understand how to keep themselves safe (especially as it gets darker).

We do many exciting topics in Class 6 which enable us to cover all aspects of the curriculum.

Autumn 1   Extreme Earth

                    Animals Including Humans

Autumn 2   The Victorians

                  Living things and their Habitats

Spring 1     The Victorians

Spring 2     World War II

Summer 1  World War II

                   Evolution & Inheritance

Summer 2   Business Challenge/North America
