Year of Reading - 2026

National Year of Reading

The Department for Education and The National Literacy Trust has declared 2026 as ‘The Year of Reading’ due to an unfortunate decline in reading for pleasure.

At Audenshaw Primary, we know how valuable reading and enjoying reading is. We have a fantastic library and place reading at the heart of the school day, with regular times to read to learn and read to enjoy. 

We are delighted to join in with 'The Year of Reading- Go All In' campaign and continue to celebrate and encourage reading throughout the year.
